The Department of Education (DepEd)-Region 1 had launched the “Happy Schools Movement” (HSM) to boost the efficient implementation of the K to 12 basic education curriculum in the Ilocos provinces and to make learners more engaging and more friendly to others especially to fellow students

to provide excellent care and to make the students feel that they are safe in the school, this movement was launched.The movement also seeks to promote every school in the region as a better and enjoyable place to study. DepEd Region 1 Director Dr. Malcolm S. Garma said the regional launch of HSM was held at the Vigan Convention Center on May 20, and was anchored on the theme: “Paaralang Masayang Maglingkod, Tagumpay ng Bata’y Itaguyod.”

Vigan City Town Fiesta Celebration

       The Vigan City Fiesta is held in honour of St. Paul the Apostle, the city’s patron saint, on 25 January each year. Locals and tourists gather to experience and see the street dancing, carnivals, food fairs, and arts and crafts, adding to the attraction of this UNESCO World Heritage City.
